Our team has recently attended the Nationals Competition in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Our team members left on Tuesday, April 2nd and returned on Sunday, April 7th.
Preparation We spent several weeks preparing for the competition in excitement for the event. This is our 2nd time attending the nationals event and we anticipate doing just as well, if not better than last year! The Competition We took a total of 20 members, which were spread out over all grades, to the competition. We took the 8th grade team, the Freshman team, the Sophomore team, and the Junior-Senior Team. It turned out to be a good event for everyone, the Junior-Senior team made rank 7 in the qualifiers and made it to the semi-finals at the event. The Sophomore team made it to quarter-finals. Lastly, the Freshman team made it to rank 22 and the 8th grade team made it to rank 24. At the competition, we had really strong team work. All of our teams cooperated well with other teams and became acquainted with them. It was a really good opportunity for us because we met teams from all over the world and got to work with people we haven't before. In particular, all teams met a lot of teams from China that we hope to work with in the future, and hopefully see again when we travel to China for competition! We came out of the experience being proud of what we did and ready to continue our mission.
